Licensed in History with a postgraduate degree in Museology and Management & Nature Conservation, Francisco dos Reis Maduro-Dias, born in Angra do Heroísmo, Terceira Island, Azores, served as director of the Office of the Classified Zone of Angra do Heroísmo, UNESCO and Director of the Museum of Angra do Heroísmo. He was President of the Historical Institute between 2001 and 2003 and Director of the Angra do Heroísmo Museum between 2002 and 2005.
For more than 40 years, it has been active in the areas of culture and identity, sustainable development and cultural heritage, especially the built one, as well as in projects to safeguard and enhance the natural and cultural heritage. in particular museology of social intervention.
