Challenge your body and mind by climbing the highest mountain in Portugal and be rewarded in every way. This is the biggest experience you should do on the island of Pico, the ultimate Azorean challenge! In addition to breathtaking views and unforgettable memories, it will come into contact with geological formations such as craters and cones, an eruptive fissure, pyroclastic deposits, fumaroles and will pass through the unique alpine habitat of the Azores.
We will pick you up from the Magdalene in the morning to take you to the Mountain House, which is at an altitude of 1.230m. The climb begins there and takes an average of 8 hours, including shortstops and a picnic at the top of the mountain.
The ascent and descent lead to the same steep path of rocky and irregular soil, sometimes covered with loose material. A certified mountain guide will give you tips to facilitate the climb, paving the way for the climbing route
easier, helping him avoid injury and encouraging him whenever necessary.
At the end of this amazing Self-rewarding trip, we will take you back to Madalena for a well-deserved rest!
